Equality and Diversity

Workplace Mediation East is committed to providing a service to employers and mediation participants which complies fully with the UK's Equalities and Human Rights legislation. Mediation is founded on the values of fairness, respect and the dignity of the individual, and you can expect to be dealt with on this basis. Users of the service can expect that Workplace Mediation East will not discriminate against them on the grounds of

  • race or racial group (including colour, nationality and ethnic or national origins)
  • gender (including marital status, civil partnership status, gender reassignment, pregnancy, maternity and paternity)
  • sexual orientation
  • religion or belief
  • age
  • disability or illness

Notice of any disability is invited before mediation commences so that this can be taken into account in the choice of venue for mediation and in the way in which the mediation is conducted. If the services of a BSL signer are required, the employer will be expected to fund this in order to ensure that neither party is at a disadvantage.

Workplace Mediation East will remain free to decide whether to mediate for any particular client, but any refusal will not be based upon any of the prohibited grounds referred to above.
